Let's Watch This

This movie is due to be shown very soon in Metro Manila. It's official website is found here . Quoting from Wikipedia: "Reconciliation matters" is the main take away message that [Roland] JoffĂ© expects from the viewers. Life, he said, is an opportunity to love: "It's a choice, and in making that decision you become free. You do not become free when you hate. The weird thing is when you really love, you feel it like a breath of freedom, you think ‘Oh my God, I’ve chosen this, and it’s beautiful’.” He emphasized that Christianity is about love and the teaching of St. Josemaria "encourages a spiritual relationship with God in 'very simple things', in cooking a meal, being with one’s family, or even having a fight." JoffĂ© states that this is "a film about what it means to be a saint in this day and age." The title refers to its theme exploring the unknown territories of hatred, guilt, and forgiveness, said the producer Ignacio G. Sancha. ...

Want to Watch

I just realized that I haven't watched in the cinema for so long. To prove a point, the last movie I watched inside the cinema was 300 and that was like ages ago. Good thing my sister told me (in one of our cute conversations while window shopping) about the release of Prince Caspian. Yeah, I have the book, read the book and loved the book. I got interested in the whole Narnia series mainly because of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. You see, that book (or play or movie), apart from being one of my sister's favorites, has a special significance in my relationship with my then-boyfriend (who is fortunately now my husband = long story). Anyway, here's a cut-and-paste of the review I found in Mercatornet : The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian The second of the new big screen Narnia films finds the once glorious kingdom under the rule of a dark empire. Review by Leticia Velasquez Monday, 19 May 2008 Directed by Andrew Adamson 140 min. PG Starring: Ben Barnes, William M...

TARA 2 Final Leg

I almost cancelled our Valentines date to be able to catch the The Amazing Race Asia 2's final leg. Of course, I was all the way cheering for the team of Marc and Rovilson. Unfortunately, the 1st prize was not for them. It went to Singaporeans Adrian and Colin (whom I felt would win it since their Sony tv ad kept on playing in-between the show). Anyhow, I think it has been a more enjoyable TARA season because of the antics of Marc and Rovilson. It's a great feeling to see "kababayans" excel in something, especially since their team came in 1st place for most of the legs. My hubby said I had tears in my eyes as the episode ended. Hehehe. Of course they weren't tears of sadness but tears of sleepiness (if there is such a thing). I was already so sleepy since we were only able to catch the 2nd run of the show in AXN at around 12 midnight because we still had dinner out to celebrate Valentine's Day. The show ended at 1 in the morning. Yawn, yawn, yawn. Hopefully n...

My Coffee-Prince Addiction

Image
I'm not sure if this is an old thing for the others --- But I recently had a "new" addiction, that is, to Coffee Prince (The 1st Shop), a Korean telenovela that has kept me (and my no-choice hubby) glued to the tv screen up to the wee hours in the morning. To set the record straight, I have never really liked or watched any telenovela in the past, whether Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, Pinoy or what have you. But after hearing about the raves of my officemates (that's you Jona, Sha and Glen!) about Coffee Prince (and seeing them drooling over this chinky-eyed guy), I decided to watch it too during the recent long weekend holiday that we had. I think I have never watched tv THAT long, as in 3 hours straight or even more I think!!! Coffee Prince is so addicting. Hahaha! Gong Yu, who plays the main character, is sooo cute. Plus the lead actress Yoon Eun Hye (who's playing a guy) is equally good and funny! Here's a synopsis of Coffee Prince which I got from Wikipedi...
