It's our sixth wedding anniversary and we are at "The Peak". :-) Photo: HK Trip: October 20-23, 2011

Our 5th Wedding Celebration

Image
On our anniversary weekend, my hubby and I (with a couple of friends) trooped to Tagaytay in search for a stress-free, love-filled weekend. Our feet led us to One Tagaytay Place, a relatively new hotel. The place was just right: warm and cozzy. We had taken time out to go to Sonya's for a full-body massage. It was wonderful, as usual. We also enjoyed dining at the usual Tagaytay eating places (more on that later). The following day was spent on going to Sunday mass at Lourdes Church and then passing by Tierra Maria as a thanksgiving to the five wonderful years of our being together. We pray for many more years of happiness and love. Happy Anniversary Honey.

5th!

Technically, "the" day is still tomorrow... But since we're having a short getaway to celebrate the occasion, let me just insert this post na now. :-) I love you hunny! Happy 5th.

Our Valentine's Date

Image
Our Valentine's was spent on a date with my uncle and aunt who are visiting from the States. My aunt said she wanted to do something cultural before she returned to the US so we bought tickets to see the Philippine Madrigal Singers at the Meralco Theatre last February 13. I personally was so happy since I love The Madz! What's more it is that we were seated at the 3rd row which means we got to see the concert in its meaty goodness. My relatives loved their kundiman medley which, I think, brought back memories of their younger days here in the Philippines. I, on the other hand, loved all of the songs in the second half which were a mix of popular local and foreign (and more updated) songs. For a great and enjoyable Valentine's, seeing the Madz would always be on top of my list.

Happy Birthday!

We had an impromptu birthday celebration at home last Saturday for my hubby. Our friends and some relatives dropped by the house for a simple salu-salo. Since it was an unscheduled party, we had to make do with what we could prepare in a couple of hours' time ~~~ this means buying take-out food! LOL. First, the cake I got was from ever-reliable Goldilocks. This mocha-flavored cake was yummy (yes, I tasted it even if I was on a sweets ban). We also picked up a tray of peachy-peachy (is this how it's spelled?). My friends deliberately ate this first before the main course (dessert comes first, right?). And among the easiest to buy, we, of course, had pansit (palabok) for long life. We also got inihaw na liempo from Andok's. Yum-yum! There was also crispy pata which was surprisingly crunchy outside and soft inside. From our own kitchen, our Ate Nilda also prepared relyenong bangus (I just forgot to take pictures, sorry!). They also had some beer and hard drinks to cap the n...

What Happened to Valentine's Day?

Well, nothing. Hahahaha! But I did have a 'Valentino' who accompanied me in doing some grocery shopping, who treated me for a simple merienda at Wendy's in Shangri-La Mall and who let me nap soundly while dinner was being prepared by the helper. ...I still find that romantic, regardless. :-)

When I'm Feeling Bleh~

When I'm feeling bleh~~~ I look at the picture of my husband and little Zoe (such as this one) and I feel better already. Their smiles are contagious! :-)

Our Wedding Anniv Celebration

Image
October 30 has always been a very special day. It was the day we first talked and got to know each other (it was also Thursday way back 1997). It was also the day we became a couple (actually, he was my bf already in August --or was it July hun?--but we broke up over a month after that and then reconciled only on Oct. 30). Lastly, it was also the day we got married. Here are some pics of the day's highlights. Picture-taking with Zoe before leaving for the office (matching outfits pa yan ha). After work, we went to mass together at the Greenbelt Chapel and then proceeded to Sugi for dinner. The place was packed. Food and service are great. Plus I love it's interiors. They've already decorated the place with Christmas lights. Here's what we ordered. Super sarap and sulit . It was kinda funny because we were seated near this group whose conversations we cannot help but overhear (they talk so loud you know!). I think they were a bunch of people from the movie/tv industry ...

Happy Anniversary!

Mom and Tina's Bakery Cafe

Image
I was craving for some seafood pasta yesterday so I asked hubby to make a detour to Mom and Tina's Bakery Cafe along C5 road for a quick dinner before we head to Shopwise for our weekly grocery. I'm blogging about the place since it's actually our first time to dine here. The place is really cozy and homey. And we were both surprised that their lemonade is colored in an attractive blue color. :-) For the husband, he ordered his ultimate comfort food ~ Callos. I had a fettucine with salmon and capers (not posting the pic here because it turned out blurred). Anyway, it tasted good but the serving is a bit small (at least for someone with a huge appetite like me). Hahaha!

Dampa Again

Image
Because I've been "complaining" on how stressful things are at work, my husband managed to take me out for dinner last Friday in order for me to destress. Hahaha. Okay sa pag-destress no? Anyway, after leaving the office at 9 pm, we headed to Dampa in Julia Vargas to eat and unwind. Dampa has always been a great experience and it's almost always guaranteed to take your blues away (and hunger) away. Here we are ~~~ (Dad, how come you still look fresh even after working for almost 16 hours?) We ordered the usual: calamares and garlic buttered shrimps Yumyum! Thanks Hunny!

Lumang Litrato

Image
Looked at my calendar and noticed that it's exactly a month before our wedding anniversary. Got no plans yet so I guess we need to start looking for a good place to dine (cramming as always). Any suggestions? Anyway, was bloghopping too during lunch and stumbled into this through Alpha's blog (thanks for the link!). Hay, hay, hay! Enjoy ito! This pic looks like it was taken so many years ago. It got me thinking....that's the goal, right? Hunny, advance happy anniversary! Many, many more to come!

Just Can't Get Enough of Burgoo

Image
My sweetheart and I decided to unwind a bit and go on a date Friday night at Powerplant Mall. We ate at Burgoo again since the last time we had a dinner at Burgoo T. Morato, we didn't get to enjoy the food that much because we came to the party late. So this time, it's just me and my hunny. We had Fish and Chips. Yummy! I think this is their Seafood Pasta. Will definitely order this one again! Can't miss a great dinner without PIZZA! After dinner, we just walked and window-shopped. We saw some artistas as usual: John Estrada (with kids), Ronnie Ricketts, etc. etc. :-). All in all, it was a great date!

Hubby's Late Birthday and Early Christmas

My dear husband definitely enjoyed his weekend. On Saturday, he received this belated birthday gift from some friends: Then on Sunday, I thought he deserved an upgrade so I got him this: And he's one happy kid. :-)

Before and After

Taken in November 1998 (Mines View Park, Baguio City): Taken in June 2007 (Clarke Quay, Singapore): Gained 20+ pounds along the way but the love is as fresh and as burning as before. :-)

Sometimes

Sometimes, saying SORRY and I LOVE YOU is enough to let someone know how much you want to understand , how much you want to be better and how much you want to make the other person happy . And that's all based on my own personal experience. Ditto hunny.

Hunny's Birthday Celebration

Image
My dear husband turned a year older last Saturday and we spent the whole day together celebrating. First thing we did was to go to morning mass with Zoe to give special thanks to God for all the blessings He has been showering our whole family especially Hunny. After lunch, he and I headed to Power Plant Mall to catch The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian --- my so sought-after movie. :-) The movie was great and heck --- we enjoyed it a lot! We haven't watched a movie in the cinema for ages which makes a movie date sooo exciting (babaw noh?). Anyway, after the movie we strolled a bit in the mall and then decided to 'chill' in Starbucks where I bought him this -- and this~~ I super miss those days when we just lounge around Starbucks and just hang out or study! Back in my Ateneo MBA days we would troop to this place to actually study. LOL. Here's the birthday boy and his birthday cake: After some coffee and cake, we swung back to reality and decided ...
