Banana Split Celebration

Image
Sometimes, God sends us some tests for Him to see if we really, really trust Him. While we felt moved and somewhat a bit troubled, we did trust Him (!!!) and thus, we celebrated my sister's health with a huge banana split! Of course, we did have remorse after finishing it all up and vowed to diet once again. Hahaha. I love you Ate! I wish you a long life of grace and good health.

Gymmin' n Chillin'

Image
Here are my regular gym-friends. On a few occasions, we find ourselves gymming and then chillin' in the nearby coffeeshop till late. Less the "puyat", this is what it's all about: friendship, coffee, blueberry shake and affogato. Yummy! This kind of chillin' makes the pounds just keep coming back even after hours of exercise. Haha! Control, control!

Hong Kong October 2011 - Day 3

Image
It's been quite a long follow up post but, nevertheless, I really just want to finish up this travelogue. On our 3rd day in HK, we woke up torn if we will still go to Macau or not. We still have a few more options within the city so we decided to go on our own and just head where our feet will take us. Our hotel was thankfully very accessible to the train so it was just so easy to go around. Largos Hotel - highly recommended. First stop was Northpoint Station to go to St. Jude's Church. It was quite a challenge to go up the street where this church is located but it was worth the walk. My friend M had asked me to go to this church to pray for her intention and so I did. It was great to see a nice church in a not-predominantly Catholic country. :-) And so after saying our prayers and making our wish, we went around the local community to see what we can see. Fortunately, we stumbled into Marble Market. It was so downtown-y - I loved it! We actually got a coupl...

One Thing I'll Really Miss

Image
Shrimps. Love to eat them before but now got an allergic reaction to them starting 2010. I don't know what's with my system that made me become allergic to them oh so suddenly. We were having dinner in Dampa one time, eating shrimps and other seafoods, when I felt so itchy that it almost made me sick. Now, every time I eat shrimps, that same allergic reaction comes back. Just staring at this picture makes me itch (soooo sad). I'll miss you shrimp (sigh).

Yummy Cupcakes

Image
These were the cupcakes which my cousin made for Zoe and Luigi's birthday party. They look so nice and we're honest-to-goodness yummy! Drop me a line if you want to order from her. Anyway, I'll be back with more posts, including my kids' birthday party pictures and suppliers' ratings (if I find the time to finish it!). Hehe.

Back to Regular Pro-blogging

Image
Is it just my appetite or is my photography really improving? I gaze into this bowl of strawberry ice cream from Mandarin Paseo Uno and my heart (and stomach) just screams ICE CREAM! Actually, I almost had given up blogging (notice how seldom I post anything now). I'm starting on a new job tomorrow (wish me luck!) and I'm setting myself some high goals which I think may cut the time for extra curricular activities such as blogging. But then again, I love blogging so much that I even changed industries for my career from banking to IT! Haha! Seriously, when I come across a nice item (like this ice cream picture) which I'd like to talk about or just a simple thought I want to share, I still couldn't stop myself from taking up blogging again. Still, my fingers yearn to blog! And just when I thought that I have really given up on the web hosting services I've gotten this year, I come across some piece of web hosting news and I suddenly I go back to blogging and pu...

Me Likey!

Cara Mia is in fault for the added pounds in my weight this week. In particular, this is the main culprit! Now I'm feeling some kind of heartburn... a yummy kind of heartburn.

Lunch Buffet at Paul Calvin's Deli

Image
To celebrate the receipt of our annual performance bonus, a friend and I decided to treat some co-workers to lunch by taking them to Paul Calvin's Deli located at Forbes Town Center, Rizal Drive, Bonifacio Global City. It was my first time to eat here so I was quite excited. Here is the buffet set-up. The salad is refreshing. And the pasta is cooked on the spot which makes it better. That time, you can get either carbonara or pomodoro. I'm not sure if these are the only choices every single day. There's just one thing I didn't like. I saw a small roach running around the table where they laid the plates and bowls. I cringed a little at the sight. Well, who wouldn't? (I hope they can take care of that soon.)

Squid Fries

Image
My friend told me about one of their company's products which is already available in your nearby Robinson's supermarkets. It's 100% local squid fries ! We cooked a pack last weekend, made our own dipping sauce and it was such definitely a delightful treat. :-) *pic from website of DCIEi.

Our Weekly Date

Image
It was again Italian night for our couple date this week. I was kinda craving for sweet and sour meatballs so we headed to the Ortigas area to look for possibilities. After surveying different eating places, we ended up at our favorite A Venetto Ristorante. However, this time, we tried out something different. Meatball Parmigianna...it's the next best thing to my sweet-and-sour meatball craving. It's a great choice, actually, since the whole bowl of spaghetti was practically wiped out by the two of us. Their version of All-meat Pizza. Two thumbs up from me!! I'm definitely going to order these two again, and again, and again.... :-)

Fresh from Iloilo

Image
We all got up pretty early last Sunday to pick up my sister who was flying to Manila from Iloilo. She's gonna be here for three weeks and we really want to make the most of the time together. After picking her up in the airport, we all went to Sunday mass in Greenbelt Chapel and then headed to our favorite restaurant Conti's for early lunch. Just sharing some pictures: After lunch and some window shopping, we were on the road again to Batangas to make 'hatid' my sister who will be sleeping overnight with our Tatay and Ninang. The next day, Ate will be brought to Tagaytay for her seminar. We all hope to visit her there soon, hopefully, with our balikbayan relatives from Germany and from the States.

Pancake House Favorites

Image
The preggy mommy strikes again! I was craving last Thursday for Pancake House food and my husband willingly obliged. House Iced Tea: Pork Vienna: Salisbury Steak: Yummy!

Class of '97 Dinner Date

Image
This is a late post but nevertheless, I am blogging about our Itallianni's date with college friends last, last Saturday. Edu was in town from Singapore and we decided to meet for dinner. We also took advantage of planning for our Baguio trip this weekend. Some highlights in pictures... The ever-famous Chicken Sicillian Salad. My ultimate favorite! Can somebody tell me what kind of pizza is this? Sorry, forgot. Chums Gracia and Ruby... Group picture! Coffee and dessert at Coffee Bean... See you guys this Saturday at 4am!

Lala's Birthday Celeb

Image
My good friend Lala treated us out to dinner at Green Tomato in Shangri-La Plaza last Thursday. It was our first time there so I thought I'd take some pics (what's new?). It was perfect timing for her to bring us there because we were trying to eat healthier this week after eating too much unhealthy stuff last weekend... Risotto with prawns (or is it just hibi?) for Hunny: Chicken and Mushroom Pasta for me: Sun-dried Tomato something-something for Lala (sorry, I forgot the name): >>but sure was yummy! For sharing ~ Pepperoni Pizza (got my two thumbs up!): It was a super fun dinner because we enjoyed teasing Lala about the developments in her social (errr...love?) life. Wishing you more years of good health and happiness Lala! Thanks for the treat! p.s. Btw, if you are looking for tickets to the Hairspray thing this November, Lala is selling some tickets. Just make a comment so I can give you the details.

Mom and Tina's Bakery Cafe

Image
I was craving for some seafood pasta yesterday so I asked hubby to make a detour to Mom and Tina's Bakery Cafe along C5 road for a quick dinner before we head to Shopwise for our weekly grocery. I'm blogging about the place since it's actually our first time to dine here. The place is really cozy and homey. And we were both surprised that their lemonade is colored in an attractive blue color. :-) For the husband, he ordered his ultimate comfort food ~ Callos. I had a fettucine with salmon and capers (not posting the pic here because it turned out blurred). Anyway, it tasted good but the serving is a bit small (at least for someone with a huge appetite like me). Hahaha!

Take a Closer Look

Image
I'll make a little experiment. Question: Does this picture make you salivate and have that "tam-asim" feeling? If yes, then we're on the same boat! :-) LOL. I just love those mangorind candies. I could eat it all in one sitting.

Holiday Merienda

Image
This is kind of a back-post. Pictures taken last Wednesday, October 1, during the non-working holiday. We decided to just stay at home the whole day last Wednesday. We munched on these for merienda. Banana-que: Bread with pesto spread: Corned beef spaghetti: Thank heavens for holidays!

Yummy

Image
Have I ever mentioned here that one of my favorite food places is Pancake House? Well, I love it there. In fact, I think I can eat there every day. LOL. Well the last time we ate there was last Sunday on our way to Batangas to attend the interment of my Ninang's mother. We stopped by first at the Pancake House in Petron SLEX for lunch and enjoyed a full 30 minutes of husband and wife bonding (we left Zoe at home since she was feeling a bit sick). :-) Feeling so relaxed on a breezy Sunday morning: Hubby's favorite Tapsilog: My favorite Salisbury Steak: Yummy!
