New Year, New Life, New Baby

Image
It seems that my last blog post title is a premonition of things to come. We're currently 7 weeks along and I am ecstatic to have a third baby born into our humble family. As they say, life is what is happens when you are busy making plans. Though the baby actually came as a surprise for us, it's a great, great surprise and we are uberly delighted no less. Pls. pray for baby and me that we do this right all 9 months of it. I'm currently on bed rest due to some spotting early this week. Hopefully I'll feel a little better and be back to work in no time. There is nothing else that I wish for but to hold a hold a beautiful and healthy bouncing baby in January! Can't wait! By the way, today is my husband's birthday. Let me just give honor to him here by saying that he is the best gift that God has given to me. He is my better-half, my love, my inspiration and my life.

After the Storm

Hi guys! I'm back from the dead. Hahaha. Maybe some of you are already wondering whether we're okay or not since it been well reported in the news that our area has been one of the hardest hit by the storm Ondoy. Well, it's true. Actually, our village is no longer a stranger to flash floods when rains comes. However, this last time was different. I've never seen anything like it - no flood as high as this one. Thank God for parents who constructed a house that is "ridiculously elevated" that we only experienced ankle-deep flood inside the main level of the house. But you see, to put things in perspective, the ankle-deep flood inside our house already translates to about 8 feet-deep water outside which means that a normal person would have to swim through the muddy and dirty water already if he has to evacuate to a safer place. Anyway, with the four days of flood, what suffered the most damage is our car which was left in the garage and which was fully submerg...

A Year Older, A Year Wiser

T'was my birthday yesterday. :-) And every year, I'd like to think that I turn a year older and a year wiser too. I'm not bitter about growing old...as long as I know that I've been a better and more mature person compared to last year. That makes me forget about having that 'me, my, mine' mentality everytime my birthday comes along. So no hard feelings if there are no cakes, no balloons, no parties to speak of. Really, it's just all about thanksgiving. *** Thank you God for all the wonderful blessings for the past years and for the years to come. My life is nothing without you.

My Life Is About to Change...

Booked!

Hooray! I'm so happy that I was able to book for Iloilo this coming January (although we didn't get the cheapest rate). We'll get to see my sister again and it will also be the annual vacation of our yaya (her family is in Iloilo). I think the yaya has been working extremely hard and she deserves the vacation. :-) Thank God for credit cards and Christmas bonuses!

Asking for Prayers

Just want to type in a quick request for prayers for my dear mother in law who is in the hospital right now. Hoping she will get well real soon. Thank you everyone in advance!!! :-)

A Series of Miracles

With all the problems we are all experiencing, I'm glad to have found some things which were a source of happiness for the past days. 1. Our electric bill is down by about 2,000 pesos this month! Zoe's feeling better compared to last week. 5. Hunny is staying put!!! No more talks about transfers (at least for the meantime) 6. Bishop Echevarria is here! Will see him again tomorrow and I can't wait! ~~ Blessings abound! 7. Was able to shop with success! Got hunny a new Nike shirt last night at half the price! Got Zoe a nice brown pair of shorts and 2 leggings. Got myself a nice striped blouse that fits! Hahaha. 8. Hunny made for me the yummiest egg sandwich and beef and brocolli last weekend. All About Miracles

Hunny flew to General Santos last October 26 to attend a company-sponsored briefing to be held the following day. We didn’t get to text and talk that much on that day because we were both busy. We didn’t even talk on the phone that Friday night before sleeping, as we usually do, since he went out with his officemates to watch a concert of a band. He just texted good night after the concert and said that he already arrived safe back in his hotel room. The following day, Saturday, he texted me the usual “good morning and wake up” text while I was already in the parish to attend morning mass. When I got home, I forgot to put back my cellphone on “general mode” from “silent mode” and went straight to the room to play with Zoe. So around 10am, I heard the landline ringing. It was Hunny. He told me that their rented van turned-turtle on their way to the briefing and that he was at that time already in the hospital to be checked for bruises and fractures. Omigosh! I really panicked. He said...
