On The Boat With The Pope

My sister just got an email from the organizers of the WYD Sydney 2008 informing her that she had been picked to be one of 100 participants from 30 countries who will be joining the Holy Father in the Papal Boat-a-cade on Sydney Harbour.

Here's the sked:

Papal Arrival - 2.45pm, Thursday, 17 July 2008

Welcome and arrival of Pope Benedict XVI on Sydney Harbour, followed by a Papal welcome at Barangaroo at 3.30pm. From 4.30pm, the Pope will travel through the streets of Sydney via motorcade in the Pope Mobile.

How lucky can she be! I'm so happy for her.

Zoe's 2nd Birthday Party!

Caution: Loaded with pictures!!! Everything was set for Zoe's 2nd birthday party. We initially invited only a few close family and friends but then our guest list ballooned up to more than 60 people on the day before. No regrets because it turned out to be so much fun! First, the FOOD! We asked the help of my SIL to cook kare-kare and kalderata while our Ate Nilda prepared molo soup, spaghetti, hotdog on stick and fruit medley. My Ninang pitched in and made some leche flan while I made peach & mango ref cake and some canapes (with egg salad) which was a HIT (thanks Anne for the tip!). Our birthday cake was from Red Ribbon (best buy!) while the rest of the food (pancit bam-i, fresh lumpia, chicken lollipops, herb-crusted fish fillet) were ordered from ever dependable Conti's. Simple Celebration - 8th Anniversary

 My pregnancy condition did not allow us to celebrate/dine out on our wedding anniversary this year. But Hunny tried to make that day special for us still by making it a pizza and cake night, not just for the the two of us but for the whole family. :-) Love you dad!
