My Mini-26K

Image
I was on leave again from work yesterday and spent the whole day just being with Zoe. It was so fun being with her. She's learning more and more each day and I'm so happy about it. Anyway, at around 6 p.m., we turned on the tv. Almost automatically, she ran and scrambled for her Winnie the Pooh tv toy...Yun pala, whenever she hears the "Deal or No Deal" intro, she always carries her "briefcase" and dances like this... ...and like this... ...imitating them... ...and her! I was so surprised (jaw dropping)... Grabe talaga the power of tv. P.S. Maybe I should really be just at home so I can monitor full-time the stuff that Zoe (and baby#2) are watching & reading. Hun, what can you say?

My Reunion with CSI

Image
Though an avid fan, I haven't really followed CSI Vegas for the past months. When I was pregnant before with Zoe, I watched a lot of CSI and actually fancied the character of Sara Sidle and decided to name our baby after her (thus, the name Zara from Sara). However, for the past months, I've haven't followed the show, or any show for that matter, since I've eliminated tv-watching from my schedule. I really prefer sleeping instead of gluing my eyes to the tv during the night. So when my husband just has to watch a little tv before sleeping, he props his earphones so he won't wake us (me and Zoe) up. Recently, however, for some reason, I was awake enough to catch the episode about Warrick Brown being murdered (Season 9, episode 1). Oh, I love it! Too bad, I heard that Gil will also leave by the 10th episode (already aired in the States). After that, I think Dr. Ray Langston will come into the picture. Hmmm...interesting developments. I think I'll be following

Inggit Me

Hahaha! My Dad (and ninang) are leaving for the US and Canada tomorrow and I'm so envious! How I wish we can fit inside their maletas so that we can tag along! In fairness, I'm so happy that my Dad's making this trip. It's his first time to go to the States/Canada. I heard that they'll be going to Detroit, Las Vegas, New York, Toronto, and Chicago. Ang dami! It's also his first time to go abroad with my ninang so okay din. I remember when he went to Europe two years ago, lungkot na lungkot sya because he toured all those fantastic places alone. Ang hirap kayang picturan ang sarili mo! He even got left by the plane because he got lost in the train station. Tsk! At least now, he has a companion. Have a safe trip po! Don't forget my bilins! Hehehe! Be home soon!

I'm in the Singing Mood...

I've always loved this song ever since I listened to it years ago. And what a good lesson it teaches to mothers like me. CHILDREN WILL LISTEN Barbra Streisand How do you say to your child in the night Nothing is all black but then nothing is all white? How do you say it will all be alright When you know that it mightn't be true? What do you do? Careful the things you say, Children will listen. Careful the things you do, Children will see. And learn. Children may not obey, But children will listen. Children will look to you For which way to turn, To learn what to be. Careful before you say, "Listen to me." Children will listen. Careful the wish you make, Wishes are children. Careful the path they take, Wishes come true, Not free. Careful the spell you cast, Not just on children. Sometimes the spell may last Past what you can see And turn against you... Careful the tale you tell. That is the spell. Children will listen... How can you say to a child who's in flight,

What Happened to Valentine's Day?

Well, nothing. Hahahaha! But I did have a 'Valentino' who accompanied me in doing some grocery shopping, who treated me for a simple merienda at Wendy's in Shangri-La Mall and who let me nap soundly while dinner was being prepared by the helper. ...I still find that romantic, regardless. :-)

Alternating Frames

My husband noticed today that I changed my eyeglasses today. Why? Because the blouse that I am wearing for work today is in green. And since the eyeglasses which I use daily is colored red, I decided to interchange it with my old silver frames so that "I won't have to look like a Christmas tree". He laughed. Anyway, it's actually good to have alternative frames so that you can match your eyeglasses, which is almost an accessory, with your clothes. In this regard, did you know that I was so glad to find Zenni Optical in the New York Times?! It's because of this that I learned that you can get Prescription eyeglasses for only $8! That's cheap, isn't it? Now you can start Seeing Straight Without Breaking Bank !

Let's Celebrate Love!

Oh Baby!

Lookie here! Our second baby's very first picture! Baby#2 looks as if he/she's waving! Can you see? Heartbeat - ok! Length - ok! Everything - ok! That's all I needed to hear from the doctor, really. :-)

Never Without Eyeglasses

My eyeglasses has always been a necessity for me. I never leave the house without it. In fact, I wear my eyeglasses the moment I wake up. I couldn't read, work and play without them. Thus, being a constant eyeglass-user, I was so glad to hear that there are available Prescription eyeglasses for only $8! This means that I can wear stylish glasses, seeing straight without breaking bank . If you guys don't believe me, then I want to let you know that you can read about this because it was on the New York Times. Zenni Optical in the New York Times?! Yes, it's true.

"1-2-3"

Image
"1-2-3" -- that's how Zoe would call her Daddy's point-and-shoot camera. She loves toying with her "1-2-3" every time she gets a chance to grab it from us. Here are the results of that toying around. :-) 1...2....3....SMILE!

Weekend Plans

First off, it's going to be our second OB appointment tonight. We're really hoping to hear the heartbeat of the baby later and to know that everything's alright. Then I plan to eat my latest craving - shrimp tempura! Oh how I wish we can go to Mandarin Paseo Uno tonight. If not, maybe can just go to Dampa again for some buttered shrimps and newly-fried calamares. On Saturday, I am hoping to do some cleaning and organizing done at home, get a pedicure, and then speed off to Greenhills to buy some bigger-sized clothes for myself. If my husband prefers to stay off crowdy places, I might as well drag him to Shangri-La Mall to check out the stuff in Zara and Debenhams. In the evening, I also plan to do a bit of surfing and check out this new networking site . On Sunday, we are off to Bulacan to Hunny's sister where Zoe will have her measurements taken for the gown she will wear as a flower girl to her cousin's wedding this May. Now that's exciting!

Any Valentine Ideas?

With the onset of the month of February, Valentine's Day is just around the corner. I originally had planned a weekend getaway ala second honeymoon in Cebu with my dear one. In fact, I already booked in advance a nice room in Marco Polo Hotel. But for some reason, we decided last minute to cancel the trip and the reservation. Maybe it was because at the back of our heads, we were wishing that we be pregnant already by Valentine's. True enough, it happened! Anyway, my husband and I now still haven't discussed our alternative Valentine plan just yet. Probably we will just have dinner at home, watch a DVD movie and have some popcorn. Or maybe I will just drag him to the nearest Dampa restaurant to chomp on a delicious seafood dish. As for gifts, I'm thinking of buying something unique like a Disney Stock which I found at www.uniquestockgift.com . I'm sure he will appreciate receiving a framed share from www.disneystock.com as he would appreciate any gift coming from

No Wonder...

The answer came from Baby Center : You still may not look pregnant even if your waist is thickening a bit. You probably feel pregnant, though. Not only are morning sickness and other physical symptoms out in full force for most women, but you may feel like an emotional pinball as well. Mood swings are common now — it's perfectly normal to feel alternately elated and terrified about becoming a parent. Try to cut yourself some slack. Most women find that moodiness flares up at around six to ten weeks , eases up in the second trimester, and then reappears as pregnancy winds to a close.

Zoe and Bolt

Image
I let Zoe watch the movie "Bolt" by Disney last weekend. On one part of the movie, she kept crying "Puppy! Puppy! Puppy!" Tears were falling down her face maybe because she was feeling bad for the poor dog who seemed lost in the movie. Awww...it was either EQ in the making...or maybe she is just a cry-baby just like me. Nevertheless, I knew that she loved the movie through and through.

Purification

Today, the Church marks the feast of the Presentation. This feast reminds us of the need for purification so we can go in front of God with clean hearts. We also need atonement which entails that we ask for forgiveness from God and from all the people we have offended. Just like the people who undergo a sort of cleansing in the rehab centers from their addictions, we too, have to submit to God and believe that he can help us change and be better.

Pancake House Favorites

The preggy mommy strikes again! I was craving last Thursday for Pancake House food and my husband willingly obliged. House Iced Tea: Pork Vienna: Salisbury Steak: Yummy!
