All About Miracles
Hunny flew to General Santos last October 26 to attend a company-sponsored briefing to be held the following day. We didn’t get to text and talk that much on that day because we were both busy. We didn’t even talk on the phone that Friday night before sleeping, as we usually do, since he went out with his officemates to watch a concert of a band. He just texted good night after the concert and said that he already arrived safe back in his hotel room.
The following day, Saturday, he texted me the usual “good morning and wake up” text while I was already in the parish to attend morning mass. When I got home, I forgot to put back my cellphone on “general mode” from “silent mode” and went straight to the room to play with Zoe. So around 10am, I heard the landline ringing. It was Hunny. He told me that their rented van turned-turtle on their way to the briefing and that he was at that time already in the hospital to be checked for bruises and fractures. Omigosh! I really panicked. He said he was trying to call me thru my cellphone but no one was answering. My bad! He also said that some of his officemates were hurt and one of them might even loose a leg/arm.
I really don’t know what came over me after that but I had a surprising feeling of peace in me upon knowing that he wasn’t one of those seriously hurt. Maybe it was because I had just been to mass and asked God to specifically watch over me and my whole family. I do this all the time during mass. I always pray for long life, good health and safety for all my dear loved ones.
After this incident, I believe that prayer, especially during Holy Mass, is so very powerful. Hubby’s being spared from a more serious injury is proof of God’s loving presence and power.
Thank you Lord for always protecting us and sending your angels to watch over us. AMEN.
P.S. Hubby arrived home on Sunday afternoon. He was checked again by the doctor here in Manila and was cleared from any fractures or major bruises. Compared to his other friends who have shoulder and head fractures, his condition is only so minor! He only has small bruises on both elbows and a cut on his left palm. Just imagine, no other bruise on other parts of his body and no fractures! Plus, his wound is on the left hand and not on the right so he can freely write, eat and drive using his right hand. God is so gracious!
