New Years Good Luck Traditions from DocJoey. What are some of your new year's good luck traditions? Lets start it here! *My mom used to collect some coins and when the new year comes she put the coins in a bowl and shake it to create sounds. She said its a good luck for a money throughout a year. And also wearing dotted dresses on new year don't know why. CC / chalyza / keep *My mom prepares 12 round fruits. One fruit for goodluck in each month of the year. Also, she bought dotted clothes when we were young. At 7pm of December 31, we attended anticipated mass at the Chapel. We watched tv for a while after that and then prepared our Medya Noche (correct ba spelling?). Hunny and I wore matching clothes in pink. Pink for ROMANCE? Let's see if Zoe will become a BIG SISTER this 2008. :-) And NOPE. Contrary to all the past years, we decided NOT to buy a single firecracker. Yup, not even one! Wow. We only had the usual "torotot" and instead just watched our neighbors' fireworks from the veranda. At midnight, we gathered together again for our celebration which was simpler compared to our Noche Buena. Ate Nilda only cooked Pansit Lucban and hamon. The rest of the foods were leftovers from Christmas and lots of fruits! Cheers to a wealthier and healthier new year to everyone! May we all be better and be closer to God this year.
