New Years Good Luck Traditions

New Years Good Luck Traditions from DocJoey.

What are some of your new year's good luck traditions?

Rule:Copy the person and persons' names that sent it to you and add your own at the bottom of the list. It really helps to build community. Lets start it here!

*My mom used to collect some coins and when the new year comes she put the coins in a bowl and shake it to create sounds. She said its a good luck for a money throughout a year. And also wearing dotted dresses on new year don't know why. CC/ chalyza /keep

*My mom prepares 12 round fruits. One fruit for goodluck in each month of the year. Also, she bought dotted clothes when we were young. She said, dots are like coins. idealpinkrose/ allinkorea/ korean food

*We dress up in "happy" colors, specifically red and preferably something newly bought. Red is a favorite choice for Chinese for happy events, including birthdays and weddings, and New Year's Day is considered a happy event. -- Joey of http://the-working-mom.blogspot.com/ and http://onlineraket.blogspot.com/

*As kids, we would jump as high as we could when the clock strikes 12 para daw tumangkad kami lalo. :-) Then our whole family (that includes all our helpers too) would always sit down together around the dinner table (full of round fruits). Before eating, we would pray for our new year's wishes with each one having a chance to say and share his/her wish. -- Vina http://vinapineda.blogspot.com/

I'm tagging Alpha, Apols and Agnes for this. :-)
