Another Kiddie Party and Alchemy
Times have indeed changed.
We attended another kiddie party yesterday...t'was the 3rd birthday of Christen, youngest of my barkada Johanna. Johanna's house is just a stone's throw away from our house. We basically grew up together as teenagers. Though she's older by about 2 years, we became friends because we're close neighbors...
Anyway, this kiddie party turned out to be one of those very seldom barkada reunions. Those who also attended were my good friends Cristy, Jon (with Maine and Gian), Anthony (with his eldest Clarence), Ge and Gigi. We rarely see each other anymore even if they're just close by cause most of us are either busy with work and/or are busy with family and kids. To date, only Gigi and Cristy remain single (does Ge count guys?). Anyway, they apparently bumped into each other in YM prior to the birthday party that's why they were all present.
In our younger days and prior to college graduation, these were the people who I usually go out with for gimmick. I remember my first time in a bar...I was only 16 or 17 then ( I think). We went to Decades Bar in Makati after Cleo's debut party. It was also my first time to taste Zombie. Hahaha! That was so long ago my golly! Does Decades still exist? If yes, maybe it's now barely surviving in Sunvar Plaza. LOL.
Imagine, we were still into bars and debuts that time and not into kiddie parties. Makes me feel kinda old.
Anyway, back to the kiddie party...The inside joke for the day was -- "Let's go to Alchemy! (with a laugh)"... Duh, where the hell is Alchemy? Ge said that they don't mention Alchemy during PTA meetings that's why we (the married ones) don't know where it is. Hahaha. When Gigi arrived, they immediately asked her if she wanted to go to Alchemy...she immediately said ---"Sige, kelan?" That only shows she's still single and updated, right? Haha!
So where is Alchemy? Cristy said it's located in SilverCity, near Tiendesitas. So I thought to myself, "Ah, it's near the one near Fun Ranch and SM Hypermart where we buy our regular grocery --- Zoe's milk and diapers and our meats for sinigang, our daily dose of canned goods and where Books for Less is located too (my favorite nook of all time where I could find nice children's books and Agatha Christie titles). Gosh! I'm so behind the latest gimmick updates...and now so into my family and baby and work.
So wanting to be a little bit more "in" so I won't be out of place or so manang in the next get-together, I decided to google about Alchemy. Here's what I learned. It's a 3-level place with a resto, bar and dance club called Vapor. Coolness!
So guys, when are we going to Alchemy? It would be nice to go for a gimmick again soon. Baka drawing na naman to ha ulit like our old plans. Hehehe.
Oh by the way, during the party, Jon gave out invites for his son's upcoming 2nd birthday this December. They're gonna have a Barney theme! If the Alchemy thingy doesn't push through then I guess this will do for the meantime. Because for new moms like me, Alchemy still can wait.
