My Coffee-Prince Addiction
I'm not sure if this is an old thing for the others ---

Gong Yu, who plays the main character, is sooo cute.

Plus the lead actress Yoon Eun Hye (who's playing a guy) is equally good and funny!

Here's a synopsis of Coffee Prince which I got from Wikipedia:
But I recently had a "new" addiction, that is, to Coffee Prince (The 1st Shop), a Korean telenovela that has kept me (and my no-choice hubby) glued to the tv screen up to the wee hours in the morning.
To set the record straight, I have never really liked or watched any telenovela in the past, whether Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, Pinoy or what have you. But after hearing about the raves of my officemates (that's you Jona, Sha and Glen!) about Coffee Prince (and seeing them drooling over this chinky-eyed guy), I decided to watch it too during the recent long weekend holiday that we had. I think I have never watched tv THAT long, as in 3 hours straight or even more I think!!! Coffee Prince is so addicting. Hahaha!

Gong Yu, who plays the main character, is sooo cute.

Here's a synopsis of Coffee Prince which I got from Wikipedia:
Choi Han Kyul, played by Gong Yoo, is the cocky son of a rich family who runs a coffee franchise. He doesn't believe in love and certainly doesn't want to get married despite his family's requests. On the other hand, Go Eun Chan, played by Yoo Eun Hye, is a 24-year old tomboyish female who gets mistaken as a guy quite often. She takes up every job possible - waitress, delivery man, etc - and has the responsibility of taking care of her mother and younger sister. Eun Chan accidentally meets Han Kyul twice, once on a delivery and once during a robbery. During the robbery, Eun Chan's delivery motorcycle ends up being destroyed. Han Kyul, not knowing that Eun Chan is actually a girl, decides to hire Eun Chan as a false "lover" in exchange for money so that he can escape the blind dates arranged by his grandmother. Meanwhile, Han Kyul's cousin, Choi Han Seong, is an established music producer and his ex-girlfriend Han Yoo Joo, who Han Kyul secretly loved for nine years, is a famous artist who studied in New York. The two were lovers for about 8 years but their relationship ended when Yoo Joo broke up with Han Seong. Two years after they separated their paths cross again when Yoo Joo returned to Seoul.
After getting an ultimatum from his grandmother, Han Kyul takes over their newly bought coffee shop, which was later named Coffee Prince, to prove his ability, both to his grandmother and Yoo Joo. In order to attract female customers, he only hires good looking male employees. In a struggle with money, Eun Chan, whom Han Kyul has already mistaken as a boy, hides her gender identity to get a job at Coffee Prince. Soon the feelings start to spark between Eun Chan and Han Kyul. Despite not knowing Eun Chan was a girl, Han Kyul starts to question his sexuality and decided to see a psychiatrist.
The story has its funny quirks and style. It's so famous now in Korea (they also have an OST) that they're planning a second season (but Gong Yu is now enlisted in the army!?).
Suggested for the married and/or mature (not so if you're just a teeny-bopper-slash-young and innocent). And since I'm a bit of a conservative, I think that deleting some scenes could have made the whole story more pure and true. Apart from the bits of controversy in it, overall, I like it (ending, acting and all).
...and sorry to spoil the excitement to those who have not watched this yet, they made Eun Chan girly in the end --- nice and sweet!
Now do you want to be addicted too?
